There are plenty of hotels and budget accommodations in Florence, but June is one of the best periods for visiting Florence and other events will be held in the city in the same period.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE HOTEL'S ROOMS FILL QUICKLY, SO WE SUGGEST YOU TO MAKE YOUR HOTEL AND TRAVEL PLANS EARLY.

CONFERENCE VENUE

The main venue of the Conference (registration desk, plenary, specialized, and solicited sessions) will be located in the rooms of the Learning Center Morgagni of the University of Florence, Viale G.B. Morgagni  40-44 (map).

 

HOW TO GET THE CONFERENCE LOCATION

The Learning Center Morgagni can be reached by tram (line T1 - Direction Careggi-Ospedale) from the Florence Train Central Station - Santa Maria Novella. The Learning Center is right next to the stop 'Morgagni - Università'. (map)

The tram goes into service at 5 am and ends its run at 00.30 am. Throughout the day, there is a run every 5 minutes from 7am to 8pm and every 10 minutes the rest of the day.

If you arrive to Rifredi station, the conference venue can be reached in about 10 minutes walk.

 

SOCIAL EVENTS LOCATIONS

The Welcome Cocktail will be held on Wednesday June 5th, at the conference venue, Learning Center Morgagni, Viale G.B. Morgagni  40-44.

The Social Dinner will be held on Thursday June 6th, at Caffè del Verone of the Istituto degli Innocenti, Piazza Santissima Annunziata 12, in the center of Florence (map).

 

HOW TO REACH FLORENCE

Florence is well-connected with the rest of Italy and with Europe, and is easy to access by car, by train and by air.

By Car: The A1 motorway, the main artery road linking the north and south of the country, has four exits toward Florence. The A11 motorway links Florence and the Tirrenic coast. If you decide to reach Florence by car, take into account that there are no free parking places downtown, and parking can turn rather expensive.

By Train: Florence is a key node on the Italian railway network (Trenitalia). High-speed trains (Frecciarossa and Frecciargento) connect Florence with the most important Italian cities. In Florence there are three main train stations: Santa Maria Novella, Campo di Marte, Firenze Rifredi, but most of high-speed trains arrive to the main station Santa Maria Novella.

By Air: You can get to Florence via two airports: Florence Airport and Pisa Airport, which are served by several international airlines and they are daily connected to most of the main European Airports.

The Florence Airport (Amerigo Vespucci) is just 5 km northwest of the city center. For transport to downtown there is the new T2 tram line which connects the Arrivals side of the airport to the center of Florence (near the central railway station Firenze Santa Maria Novella) and runs every 5/10 minutes from 5 am to 00.30 am.

The Pisa Airport (Galileo Galilei) is about 80 km from Florence. The easiest way to reach Florence by Galilei Airport is by train (Trenitalia) and by coach service operated by Caronna Tour and by Autostradale (from the Arrivals side of the airport to the railway station Firenze Santa Maria Novella).
