Abstract

The present paper aims at presenting a study on the performance of the hotel industry in Italy, by analysing a panel of firms (ATECO 55.1) in the years 2008-2015. After an analysis of price and operating cost changes at the aggregate level (paragraph 2), a quantile regression is applied on microdata for modelling total production (sales). The model tries to distinguish the contribution of the quantity and quality of labor.
