Abstract

The Trieste Observatory of Cardiovascular Diseases has been established in 2009 with the aim to integrate administrative and clinical data sources in order to conduct epidemiological studies based on real-world population. Our interests are focused on two main areas: from an epidemiological point of view, the aim is minimizing various source of bias in the design of the study, that commonly could arise in observational settings and are moreover a crucial point when using administrative data sources. Methodological research comparing different approaches to the analysis of longitudinal measures and their impact on time to event data, considering recurrent and competing events, represents the specific statistical domain of interest.
